Alexander Calder Son of Vizcaya's Stone Barge Designer Sterling Calder

Google is celebrating Alexander Calder's 113th Birthday (July 22, 1898 – November 11, 1976)  . Alexander Calder created his first truly kinetic sculpture and gave form to an entirely new type of art dubbed "mobiles".

Alexander Calder's parents were both artists. His father Alexander Sterling Calder (January 11, 1870 – January 7, 1945)was commissioned to create the stone barge.
