Vizcaya Series "Conversations on Conservation"

Conservations
Did you know that Vizcaya's owner, James Deering was an environmentalist? In 1914 he made the then unusual decision to locate Vizcaya's main house directly on Biscayne Bay, specifically preserving the rockland hammock (native forest) for us today. In addition, when planning and creating Vizcaya's gardens, he preserved the mangrove shore and was committed to retaining native plants and vegetation.

Join us for a series of conversations on conservations! This series of public programs will expose you to the environment at Vizcaya and inspire you to continue Deering's preservation efforts and share in his delight of Miami's subtropical environment.
